On 12 February 2014, the Committee of Permanent Representatives endorsed an agreement between the Greek Presidency of the Council of the EU and the European Parliament on a draft directive aimed at reinforcing and simplifying the market surveillance for the freemovement of pressure equipment in the internal market.
The negotiations with the European Parliament on a Single Resolution Mechanism for banks, the ECB quarterly report on the implementation of the Single Supervisory Mechanism, the adoption of the Commission’s Annual Growth Survey 2014 and an Alert Mechanism Report, the endorsement of the EU terms of reference in preparation for the G20 meeting in Sydney, the approval of the recommendations on the EU budget discharge 2012 as well as the priorities for the budget 2015 are the main topics of the ECOFIN Council on February 18 chaired by Greek Minister of Finance, Yannis Stournaras.
The Agriculture and Fisheries Council meeting will take place in Brussels, on Monday 17 February 2014, starting at 10:00 (CET). It will address mainly agricultural matters. The Council will be chaired by Greek Minister for Rural Development and Food, Athanasios Tsaftaris.
The Greek Presidency will present its work programme for Agriculture and Fisheries for its term in office.
The Greek Manpower Employment Organization (OAED), under the auspices of the Greek Presidency, is organising today (14.2.2014) at Zappeion Megaron, a conference on apprenticeship that aims at highlighting the significant contribution of quality apprenticeship systems in tackling youth unemployment and achieving the goals of the "Youth Guarantee” European initiative.

Starting at 11.00 (GMT+2) at Justus Lipsius building in Brussels, the Council of General Affairs will discuss the work programme proposed by the Greek presidency for the duration of its term of office.
It will then start preparations for the European Council meeting on 20-21 March and take note of a draft annotated agenda.
The Permanent Representatives Committee (COREPER) approved on Friday 7 February a compromise agreed provisionally with the European Parliament on a decision on enhanced co-operation between public employment services (PES).
