Minister of Environment, Energy and Climate Change, Yiannis Maniatis, will chair the Council of Ministers of Energy and Environment of the EU in Brussels and he will participate in the Conference "Healthy Oceans - Productive Ecosystem: A European conference on the marine environment"

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos on Friday, 28 February met in Rome, with Italian Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini.

During the meeting the two ministers discussed the bilateral relations, the priorities of the current Greek Presidency and the upcoming Italian Presidency of the Council of the EU – with emphasis on European policy on illegal migration – energy cooperation between the two countries, as well as international and regional developments.

The European Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation and Training (Europol), the migratory pressures, operational actions for increasing border security, data protection and the establishment of the European Public Prosecutor's Office are the key issues on the JHA Council that will be held in Brussels on 3-4 March.
